A few years ago, we found Mike and Leslie a charming home in a bustling, transitional part of Nashville. One day Leslie called and said they needed something different. Life changes, and sometimes what feels like home changes with it.

As a newly-married couple, Mike and Leslie wanted something close to the city that they could make their own. As jobs changed and they moved into more high-pressure careers, Leslie as a musician and creative marketing consultant and Mike as a fitness coach and police officer, they found themselves seeking a quiet refuge to work and to come home to. So, we headed a little east of town to Mt. Juliet for a little more land and a lot more solitude.

On our first trip out, we found the perfect spot—a few minutes from Hermitage and Mt Juliet, up a tree lined lane, to a beautiful home almost hidden from view. The perfect mix of convenience, great neighbors, and the peace and quiet they craved.

Mike, now a personal trainer specializing in training first responders, has reluctantly agreed to one day use a run with me as his cardio workout so we could do a deep dive into the neighborhood. Stay tuned!

Neighborhood Features

What do Mike and Leslie love about Mt Juliet?

  • Cows in the back yard!

  • Ten minutes to Providence in Mt. Juliet and Hermitage

  • The feel of being in the country so close to the city

  • As midwestern transplants, the wide open spaces remind them of home

  • The '“small town” experience: annual Christmas parade, local fireworks, drive-in theater nearby, etc.

My favorite thing: The way they have transformed it into a home, a quiet workspace for Leslie, and a functional gym for Mike

Unexpected surprise: Check out Leslie’s Instagram stories for details!
